I’m a little behind on posts for all the projects we finished at the end of the year so while it’s a hot day and my boys are napping, I’m going to finish sharing our art work before summer camps start in less than a week! I worked with one of the local NC PreK classes just before Memorial Day. I shared with them the history and symbolism of the US Flag. Each star represents one of the fifty states and the thirteen stripes stand for the original thirteen colonies. I give them model magic to roll out into whatever shape they wanted for their flags. They placed stars that corresponded to their age and pressed stripes to represent how many people are in their family. They were going to paint them the following week when they were dry. I wish I could have seen what colors they chose to represent themselves.
